The Quiet Year
What contemplative practices teach us about resilient organizations
Abstract
A short essay on slowing decision cycles in turbulent times. We examine three modern organizations that deliberately introduced contemplative practices — silent meetings, weekly retrospectives, quarterly fasts from optimization — and tracked the effect on retention, creative output, and reported wellbeing. The findings suggest that contemplation is not the enemy of velocity but its precondition.
